Last month the Code Name Max crew visited Lincoln Riley (Foster e Rocco) and Adam Foster (Syrahmi & Foster e Rocco) hard at work at Galli Winery for Vintage 2011.

The boys soon found out that plunging is tough when they exchanged their computers for a workout on their guns, learning the art of plunging from Lincoln. But even doing manual work, they still looked cool and their gym work had paid off! Read more

Ben Thomas from The Weekly Review has a great article this week called Loving Heathcote.

As we grow up, it’s fascinating to see what common interests we develop with our parents. Some share the love of a footy team, others get pleasure out of reading the same books. For me and my dad, it’s wine. And specifically, shiraz from Heathcote.

Dad introduced me to its charms in 2004, when my wife and I moved back to the family home after spending a few years in London. With three months to wait before the tenants vacated my place, we all turned to the bottle quickly. In the end, we spent some wonderful weeks “assessing” dad’s cellar and trying out new wines from Heathcote. Read more

2010 Foster e Rocco Sangiovese: current Winewise wine review received Highly Recommended score.

Like any other good Australian red, sangiovese should have abundant fruit, Too many are lean, mean and hard, dominated by tannin.  This wine has the classic cherry varietal fruit in abundance, unencumbered by oak. The tannins are fine and savoury. Very good drinking.
